Thought 12/4

Trust that God is powerful enough to care about what you ask, and that it isn’t a small matter to him. Even if he doesn’t respond just as you’d like, he listens. Be prepared for a better blessing than you asked for, but don’t assume that it will be easy. The prayer of faith has the power to save many as it is working. If you listen and allow yourself to be led, it is just as much about how God changes your heart as the prayers he is still answering.

Can he grant your prayers if you don’t trust him enough to receive what he might tell you? The fruit of the spirit take time.

I am a second-grade teacher and pastor-to-be who loves people. I spend my weekends with friends or wandering the museums of DC alone and with a journal, trying to put words on the places of the soul that still feel wordless. I spent most of my days at school trying to learn patience through my students and running on sheer nerdy passion. I follow Jesus Christ, and savor that as my most important identity--that I am a child of God, as are infinite others, regardless of their other identities. Christ is my one thing.
