Love letter to the Child

My friend,

I once suffered so that little faces could call me “Teacher” with trust. God allowed me to be miserable so that I could live to see a day where it was not about myself. He let me go on so that you could love better than me. He keeps me around so that others may succeed where I have failed.

Lucky am I to watch you conquer in battles I never faced. Lucky am I to see God in your strength. Lucky am I to watch the truth grow as I grow with you. Lucky am I to be  your keeper and friend as you struggle to know more.

We are all small, and someday you will live to understand what I’m talking about. Know that God loves you as he loves every child. I pray that you will not be so alone.

I ask for so much blessing over your life, and that you learn what the truth is. I want you to feel treasured and safe, no matter what is going on with me. I want you to enjoy a healthy childhood and become a well adjusted adult over a well-established transition. I want your life to be blessing to those you are around.

I pray that you have the strength to be honest, when the time comes. I look forward to the day when you know better than me.

I am a teacher-to-be who loves people. I am not afraid of many things. I like to explain my thoughts logically on a very birds-eye view level--I was born thinking that way. I follow Jesus Christ, and I accept only that label to describe my identity--that I am a child of God, as are infinite others, regardless of their other identities. Christ is my one thing.
