More photos I forgot from Spring Break…

This Spring Break volunteer trip I took was off the chain. We stayed in a Methodist Church in Rogers Park in Chicago, and all the people who worked their and ministered to us were so kind. This is their window, in the sanctuary where I slept.20150316_091828

Me and a friend went to the Garfield Park Conservatory. I forget if I already shared photos from there, but it was so lovely. They were having a Spring Expo event, so all the beautiful blooming flowers. They had a ton of interactive learning stuff for the kids to play with, so that made me smile.

Look at this gecko lizard thing! I like how he blends into the ceiling, from the other side.20150315_144954

More stuff (all of it is pretty to me, I don’t know bout y’all):

These trees kinda made me think of the Truffala trees in Dr. Suess. Those things were super fluffy, but made out of these pink fluff fibers. Definitely worth it.

I am a second-grade teacher and pastor-to-be who loves people. I spend my weekends with friends or wandering the museums of DC alone and with a journal, trying to put words on the places of the soul that still feel wordless. I spent most of my days at school trying to learn patience through my students and running on sheer nerdy passion. I follow Jesus Christ, and savor that as my most important identity--that I am a child of God, as are infinite others, regardless of their other identities. Christ is my one thing.
