Things that I was wrong about: True Advice from Men I admire

  • When I ask you whether or not you like me, the correct response time is ~2 seconds. (My friend and current personal trainer/all around excellent psych guy pal)
  • I don’t need to prove anything. Don’t sell yourself short. (My Father, best piece of advice ever)
  • I am special (one of my bff’s from marching band, he’s so kind and thoughtful, it gives me hope for love in general just because he is such a quality person)
  • My ideas are beautiful, and interesting (same friend as above)
  • “Proving it” is more complicated than just being honest (Jesus)
  • Don’t be afraid
  • Your jokes are hilarious
  • You are attractive (early morning double takes #lol; YOLO)
  • It’s enough to not know (ok this one is my adventure buddy friend, which is a girl, and like one of my favorite people alive just because she has such a beautiful heart and makes me happy to know her)

I am a teacher-to-be who loves people. I am not afraid of many things. I like to explain my thoughts logically on a very birds-eye view level--I was born thinking that way. I follow Jesus Christ, and I accept only that label to describe my identity--that I am a child of God, as are infinite others, regardless of their other identities. Christ is my one thing.
